This award has been established by Dr Ray Watters, an alumnus and retired staff member of Victoria University of Wellington.

Purpose of award

The award is given annually to a student enrolled in an Honours, Master's or PhD programme in Geography, Development Studies or Environmental Studies in the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences at Victoria University of Wellington who is undertaking research in the South Pacific, Latin America or Asia.
