Applicants can apply as Maori and/or Pasifika.

This award was established to support a talented Māori or Pasifika musician during their studies at Victoria University of Wellington, who otherwise may not be able to attend university due to financial disadvantage.

Scholarships for study in the following year will be awarded to a student enrolling in a full-time New Zealand School of Music undergraduate degree and who is facing financial hardship. Scholarships will be awarded at $40,000 across three years of full-time undergraduate study. This will be awarded at $10,000 in the first year ($5,000 toward accommodation and $5,000 stipend) and $15,000 in both the second and third years ($5,000 toward fees, $5,000 toward accommodation and $5,000 stipend).
