Victoria Tangiwai Scholarship - School Leaver Scholarships for Excellence

The Victoria Tangiwai Scholarship celebrates excellence - both academic, and outside the classroom. We encourage applicants who display the key attributes of excellence, leadership and commitment to their community (the primary consideration for these scholarships is academic excellence with additional factors taken into consideration). In supporting academically-strong school leavers to study at Victoria, the University recognises them as New Zealand’s scholars of the future. These scholarships will be offered to the top school-leaver applicants enrolling in any of Victoria University’s Bachelor degree programmes.

Scholarships for study in 2019 will be awarded competitively on the basis of academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to community. Scholarships will be awarded at $5,000 for the first year of study which can be put towards accommodation costs at a Victoria hall of residence, or (for students not in a hall) as a stipend to contribute towards your first year living costs.

Victoria Totoweka Scholarship - School Leaver Scholarships for Equity and Support

The Victoria Totoweka Scholarship recognises Victoria’s committment to equity issues in supporting students to have access to education.

We encourage strong academic applicants who are Māori; Pasifika; from refugee-backgrounds; have a disability; or come from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In supporting these students Victoria recognises them as New Zealand’s scholars of the future.
