Application to Victoria University as a doctoral student and for a Victoria Doctoral Scholarship is a joint application process. Victoria Doctoral Scholarships are awarded on merit and are open to New Zealand and international students in any discipline.

Eligibility

Holding a prerequisite qualification does not guarantee admission to a doctoral programme at Victoria. Acceptance as a doctoral candidate will depend on your academic background and the availability of supervision in the area of your research interest.

Applicants will have completed a Bachelor's degree with Honours or a Master's degree at a New Zealand University with an overall GPA of no less than 6 (or an equivalent qualification from another University); or provide satisfactory evidence of adequate training and ability.
